Personal Statement

Dr. ShahidFazal obtained his M.B.B.S degree from Khyber Medical College, University ofPeshawar, and completed Masters inclinical Rheumatology from University of Manchester UK. He did specialist training in Rheumatology with West Midlands Deanery, United Kingdom and obtained Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) from General Medical Council (GMC), UK. He has active GMC Specialist license to practice. He has been working as consultant rheumatologist since March 2014 in different hospitals of UK.

Dr. Fazal is experienced in treating inflammatory joint diseases in adults, like rheumatoid arthritis, seronegativespondyloarthritis(like ankylosing spondylitis, arthritis associated with inflammatory bowel disease and psoriasis), and the other autoimmune connective tissue disease like SLE (Systemic Lupus Erythematosus), Sjogren’s syndrome, scleroderma, polymyositis and dermatomyositis, and crystal induced arthritis like gout and other rheumatic diseases. He does procedures such as joint injections and nerve blocks.

He is also experienced in preventing and treating Osteoporosis and vitamin D deficiency.He actively participates in annual appraisal, CME activities, attends professional conferences, and participates in quality improvement projects and research. He was involved in training and supervision of junior doctors in UK and teaching of medical students.
