Personal Statement

Dr. Ahsraf Salem’s career in orthopaedic surgery extends to more than 20 years with 13 years of training and experience in the UK. Most of his current practice is hip and knee arthroplasty with experience in the use of hip replacement systems including the computer assisted total knee system for knee surgery, Oxford Uni Knee. Dr. Salem is a distinguished member of the British and European Foot and Ankle Societies. He has a good experience in foot and ankle surgery from simple bunion to complex ankle replacement. As a member of the British Trauma Society and AO Alumni Association, Dr. Salem trained surgeons on the techniques of interlocking nailing with a variety of nailing systems for the tibia, femur and humerus. He has treated many complex open fractures, malunion and infected non-unions. He also has a wide experience in using other modalities of internal and external fixation, management of polytrauma patients and an ATLS provider.
